2012 Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre
Scholarship & Bursary Program 

The Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre is now accepting applications for scholarships and bursaries for children (under 25) involved in the performing arts. Deadline for applications is 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 16th, 2012.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of proficiency and dedication to the performing arts. The selection committee has the final say in awarding scholarships and bursaries. 

Scholarship and bursary awards must be used to continue lessons in the student’s chosen field, and the monies are given directly to the teacher or institution where the student takes instruction. Upon receipt of the awards, students have until October 1st, 2012 to claim them. 

Anyone from Dawson Creek and surrounding area, under the age of 25, may apply for a scholarship or bursary. To apply, students must submit an application form along with an audition videocassette (VHS only) or DVD and indicate the name of the music teacher or the name of the institution of instruction.   

Applications and audition tape (VHS only) or DVD must be submitted to the Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre no later than 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 16th, 2012. The public performance will be at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, June 13th at the Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre.

May 16, 3pm: 2012 KPAC Scholarship Program application deadline. Thanks to our sponsors: Kiwanis Club of Dawson Creek, Astral Media, South Peace Community Arts Council, Scotiabank, and the Kiwanis Arts Centre Society.

May 26, 7pm:  Spring Fling, Dawson Creek Kiwanis Community Band's annual Spring Concert & Dessert. Enjoy your choice of desserts and a beverage with music provided by the band. Tickets $15 each.

June 1, 7pm:  Community Talent Showcase 2012. First, second, and third prize winners will be chosen. Door Prizes. Refreshments. Admission by cash donation. Total proceeds collected matched by Walmart Canada! Proceeds to the Vancouver Children's Hospital.

June 2, 7pm:  Dance Extensions Dawson Creek year-end recital. Tickets available at the door.

June 13, 7pm:  2012 Scholarship Concert, featuring recipients of the 2012 KPAC Scholarship Program.  Free admission.
